Eficode’s policy of working conditions in Finland
At Eficode, we are committed to our employees' wellbeing and work-life balance. It is one of our top priorities, and we want our policy of working conditions to reflect it. Today, our policy is designed to offer enhanced support for our employees in various life situations.
What are the fundamental principles stated in our policy of working conditions, that are the baseline of everything we build upon? Let’s take a look at some key examples:
Expanding support: Infertility treatments and gender reassignment care now covered
Besides the standard paid leave during absences due to illness or accident, we have recognized and understood the importance of supporting our employees during significant personal journeys that some of them may face at some point in their lives. Thus, we have expanded our paid absence policy to include the time spent on doctor's appointments or examinations for infertility treatments both for employees and their partners, as well as healthcare visits related to gender reassignment processes.
Standing by you through every family milestone
We've also taken significant actions related to changes in family dynamics.
We want to make it easier for parents to embrace those precious early moments with their newborns. Firstly, our policy states the right of the birthing parent to attend important check-ups for monitoring baby's development during the pregnancy. Our paid absences also cover an ultrasound examination with a partner.
In addition to that, family leaves have been equalized, making sure that parents can contribute to the care of their new family member more equally.
We also understand how challenging it can be when a child unexpectedly falls ill. Naturally, there is a paid temporary absence to take care of your sick child, but in addition to this, we're also offering a nanny service to provide practical help and ensure the little ones are cared for.
Starting school for the very first time is a huge milestone, not just for children, but for parents too. At Eficode, we recognize how important it is for families to be present during these meaningful moments. That’s why we’re proud to introduce a warm and thoughtful addition to our policy of working conditions: Eficodeans are now entitled to paid leave on the first day of school when a child living in the same household begins their school journey.
Our support for our employees' family matters and other life situations extends even further. A paid absence is available for employees in instances such as moving, preparing for a wedding or registered partnership celebration, in case of the death of a close family member, or for absences due to an unforeseen or compelling reason. As an example of the latter, Eficodeans are entitled to paid absence from work when an unexpected situation necessitates them to be with their parents or their spouse, e.g. due to a sudden accident.
Beyond our formal policies and guidelines, we continuously strive to foster a culture of wellbeing through various initiatives, drawing inspiration from leading practices across the industry: We provide comprehensive occupational health services and health insurance, which include both physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing-related support to our employees. Recognizing the importance of employee wellbeing and a healthy work-life balance, we offer a diverse, comprehensive range of initiatives. These include Eficode club activities, dedicated wellbeing events, ePassi benefits, a bicycle benefit, exclusive gym discounts, and free online coaching – all designed to keep Eficodeans thriving.
Where life and work grow together
Our policy of working conditions evolves with our employees. The policy of working conditions and other internal guidelines are more than just words on paper; they’re a reflection of the values we live by every day: empathy, flexibility, and genuine care for our people. With constant discussions and listening, we strive to create a working environment that supports life rather than competes with it. Whether you're growing your family, navigating life’s unexpected turns, or simply showing up for a milestone moment, we're here to back you up.
We believe in a working environment that supports life, not competes with it. That's the Eficode way.
